Our Studio
Our studio is an approximately 1,600 sq ft space split into 2 sections. The main section is an approximately 35 ft tall octagon entirely clad in barnboard. We call this section the “beehive”. The beehive was originally built in 1901 as a donkey-powered grain mill. It now serves as the live room.
The secondary section of the studio is an approximately 20 ft tall square prism shaped area that opens into the main studio space. This area serves as the control room, but is often used for live recording due to its unique acoustic characteristics.
The studio is connected to Range Babe headquarters via a workshop. At Ranger Babe HQ you’ll find 2 guest bedrooms, a kitchen, laundry, dining room, living room, and our world-famous Hall of Oddities.
Services
Production
Work with us to craft, refine, and record some music. We’ve worked with a whole bunch of artists across a whole bunch of genres, so no matter what music you want to make we’re ready to help. We can be as hands-on or hands-off as you wish, in whatever style you want. Production is always charged by the song, with no time limit (subject to our reasonable discretion). Bulk rates if you’re making a whole album.

Engineering
No need for production services? No problem! If you’re just looking for a great sounding room with great sounding gear in it, we’ve got you covered. We are happy to engineer sessions for you and let you handle the creative on your own. Engineering sessions are charged hourly. Bulk rates if you’re making a whole album.

Custom Effects Pedals
We design and build many of our own effects pedals, so we can build you some too! If you want a standard overdrive pedal, we can build you one. If you want a custom fuzz built into an RC car, we can build that too. If you can dream it, we can build it.

Guitar Setups and Customization
We are constantly messing with our guitars, so we can mess with yours too! From smoothing frets to straightening necks to replacing pickups, we have you covered. Only thing we don’t do are finish/paint jobs.

Stay
If you’re here from out of town or just don’t want to go home between sessions, you’re welcome to stay here at no extra charge. If you are actively recording music with us you are welcome to stay on the property as long as you’d like (subject to our reasonable discretion). There are 2 guest bedrooms available, and plenty of space to camp out in the studio. While you’re making music consider Ranger Babe home.
Stuff to Do
Without a range of activities, the creative brain languishes in a featureless doldrum, which is why we have Mario Kart Wii.
Aside from the Wii, you might also choose to splash in the pool, paddle on Lake Maranacook, frolic in our 3 private acres of flowering fields, climb nearby Mount Pisgah, peruse our extensive VHS catalog, have a BBQ on the deck, wage snowball war, play with our lovely pup Natty Boh, or simply read a book from our disproportionately massive library.
